Ben and I at LSU spring football

Sarah, Ben, and I went to the LSU spring football game. It was fun, Ben had a good time, mostly looking at everyone there. It was really hot so we left early and showed Ben Mike the Tiger, Mike was getting his sleep on in the only shady spot of his cage.

School

I have decided that I will be going back to school. I'm very bored at my current job and my current position is in the process of being taken over by a few programs, everyone knows computers and computer programs are taking over. My plan is to start out at BRCC (Baton Rouge community college) and get all of the easy crap out of the way then I'm going to transfer over to LSU and work on a degree in Information Systems and Decision Science (ISDS). If all goes well I hope I can be out in less than six years, I will have to take as many night courses as possible so I can keep a full time job. After I graduate I plan on going back and taking some night classes at BRCC on computer science and networking just to gain some more knowledge.

crappy computer

I had to take my notebook back to Best Buy tonight since the hard drive has decided to quit working for the third time. I was all excited because I actually bought one of the extended warranty things that I have always thought was a rip off. It states that if you bring back an item for four service repairs that the item is considered a Lemon, well it was my fourth time.... woohoo. Let's see:

1. hard drive is crap
2. CD drive is crap and hard drive is crap again
3. ram is crap

so they replaced my hard drive twice, replaced my CD drive, and replaced my ram. I got happy a little too early...I quickly find out that it is only considered junk when they say so, when they considered what they have fixed to be normal malfunctions(huh?) or just bad computer parts. it is only a service repair if the computer parts are bad, so I could bring my piece of crap back 50 times and they could consider only three of those trips as a true service repair. I was pissed of course, but now as long as I can have it back for another good five months I will be happy, I guess.

Flock Browser.

I have been playing around with Flock and it is looks like it will be a really good browser. It is still in the development stage but you can download it and try it out for yourself. One of the cool things I found is you can save and tag your favorites and they are saved online at http://del.icio.us/ you can access them from anywhere and they are no longer married to your browser on your machine. Also anyone with an account from del.icio.us can view your favorites.

With the intergrated blog editor you can update your blog(does not work with all blogging platmforms) from the browser. Also the blog editor has a Flickr toolbar so you can access your photos on your flickr account right from the blog editor. Below is a screen shot of the blog editor with the Flickr toolbar:

You should check out their list, 13 things you can do with Flock (and how to do them)

here is #11 from their list:

#Blog This!
You can easily blog interesting web content with Flock, in just a few clicks.

Example:

1. Highlight a passage on a web page that you would like to blog about.
2. Right-click that selection and choose Blog This.
3. The blog editor opens with that selection already inserted. Not only that, the selection is properly formatted as a Blockquote and appropriate citation is included.

Other ways to Blog This:

1. Open the View menu and choose Topbars and then Blog Topbar.
2. Highlight a text passage and drag it to the box labeled "Drag stuff to blog it!"

Or you can use the Shelf (see The Shelf, below).
